The UFCD LGBTQ+ Caucus aims to educate members of the student body and community about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender rights. It also works to encourage more members of the LGBTQ+ community to become involved in the political process. The LGBTQ+ caucus focuses on a wide variety of issues, but centers around eliminating the hate and ignorance toward the LGBTQ+ community. In the past, the caucus has brought in members of the transgender community to talk about their personal struggles and experiences. UFCD and the LGBTQ+ Caucus frequently call elected officials and work to put candidates in office who firmly believe in equality for all, no matter who you love or how you identify.
