The UFCD Latinx Caucus seeks to highlight issues affecting the Hispanic community. We represent the views of Latinx UF students who identify as a part of the Democratic Party as well as make it a priority to inform the campus about what is happening within that community, frequently collaborating with Hispanic Latino Affairs. In the past, the caucus has gotten involved in local ESOL programs to assist young students who are learning English as a second language adjust. By promoting political participation and involving more Latinx students in the political process, the Latinx Caucus aims to have the community’s views better expressed.

Valentina Lavieri-Sosa is the Latinx Caucus Chair for the Political Directors Cabinet. She is super excited to be a part of this organization and cannot wait to radiate her Latina pride. This is her first year here at the University of Florida. She is currently a Microbiology major and is on the pre-dental track. She loves being outdoors and loves photography (so watch out for her, she’ll probably take your picture eventually).
